Survey: Rosé, 'APT.' chosen as artist, song of the year
BLACKPINK member Rosé and her song “APT” with Bruno Mars were chosen as artist of the year and song of the year in a survey.
To mark its 21st anniversary, Joy News 24, an entertainment and business newspaper, conducted a survey from Oct. 13 to 19, asking respondents what dramas, variety shows, movies, actors, and singers shined in 2025.
The survey was conducted among 110 industry professionals, including entertainment and broadcasting company employees, film and broadcast content producers, and entertainment reporters.
“APT.” was voted by the respondents as the song of the year for 2025, garnering 55 out of 110 votes.
The song dominated global charts for about six months, Joy News 24 reported. “APT.” won song of the year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
“Golden” song from the hit film “KPop Demon Hunters,” grabbed second place with 11 votes. It remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 17 consecutive weeks.
BLACKPINK member Jennie’s “Like Jennie” placed third with six votes followed by Woodz’s “Drowning” in fourth place with five votes.
Other songs that entered the survey were All Day Project's “Famous”, BLACKPINK’s “Jump,” G-Dragon's “Home Sweet Home,” “Too Bad” (with Anderson .Paak), Jisoo's “Earthquake,” Aespa’s “Rich Man,” KiiiKiii’s “I Do Me,” IVE’s “Rebel Heart,” Close Your Eyes' “All the Poems and Novels Inside Me,” G-Dragon's “Power,” and Nmixs's “Blue Valentine.”
In addition, ZerobaseOne's “Iconik,” J-Hope's “Killin' It Girl,” Ive's 'Attitude', Kickflip's “My First Love Song,” Riize’s “Fly Up,” NCT Haechan's “CRZY,” Kiss of Life's “Lips Hips Kiss,” P1Harmony's 'DUH!', and Boynextdoor's "If I Say, I Love You" received one vote each.
Artist of the year
Rosé also won artist of the year in the survey, receiving 29 votes.
“With high scores across all categories, including her collaboration with Bruno Mars, chart-topping performances at home and abroad, and winning the MTV Video Music Awards, her No. 1 spot is unquestionable,” Joy News 24 stated.
G-Dragon came in second place with 20 votes.
“Many people supported G-Dragon's return after he topped the music charts with a string of hits such as ‘Power,’ ‘Home Sweet Home,’ and ‘Too Bad,’” according to the media outlet.
Jennie took third place with 14 votes while BLACKPINK and IVE tied for fourth place with six votes each.
Stray Kids received five votes and placed sixth.
The fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X from “KPop Demon Hunters” also received five votes followed by Aespa with three votes.
Also entering the survey were Zerobaseone, Plave, AllDay Project, Tomorrow x Together, BoA, Seventeen, ENHYPEN, Xdinary Heroes, Day6, BTS, Jisoo, and Ejae.
