Protesters, police clash outside Ombudsman's office in QC
Tension erupted outside the Office of the Ombudsman in Quezon City, on Friday, Nov. 7, as anti-corruption protesters clashed with police while attempting to enter the premises.
Militant groups held a demonstration called “Kalampagan sa Ombudsman Against Selective Justice.”
Militant groups gathered to call on Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla to take decisive action against public officials allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects, accusing the agency of selective justice in handling corruption cases.
As protesters attempted to push past barricades, police officers from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) intervened to prevent them from breaching the compound.
The confrontation led to a brief scuffle, with officers using shields to disperse the demonstrators.
