CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Police Regional Office-2 is on full alert due to an oncoming monster storm.
Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr., PRO-2 chief, said they are implementing several measures to ensure the safety of residents in the Cagayan Valley region.
One of these measures is the implementation of “Oplan: Tambuli” where police massively inform residents near coastal areas and rivers to prepare and evacuate for tropical cyclone “Uwan.”
The PRO-2 has prepared a Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) composed of 5,000 police officers ready the respond to the needs of the people.
Marallag said that they are closely coordinating with the Office of the Civil Defense, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, and local government units (LGUs) in monitoring the movement of the typhoon for timely public information and dissemination and ensure smooth coordination.
“Our top priority is the safety of every resident in the region while we are preparing for the arrival of the super typhoon. The early preparation and immediate action are necessary to avoid hazards and keep the safety of the residents,” Marallag said.
He called on people to be vigilant and follow advisories from authorities.
