Abra lone district Rep. JB Bernos gave kudos to President Marcos for upholding the "Tatak Pinoy Strategy (TPS)"--a move that will help protect local industries and allow them to flourish here and abroad.
“When we study globally-competitive products, we can see a common thread where the government closely collaborates with industries and other stakeholders for their improvement,” Bernos said in a statement.
The lawmaker--an Ilocano like the President--says rhe approval of the TPS is “a significant step towards our efforts to make our industries more viable".
The President’s Memorandum Circular No. 104 directs national government agencies, government-owned or -controlled corporations and local government units to support the implementation of the TPS, which was crafted in pursuance of Republic Act (RA) No. 11981 or the “Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Filipino) Act”.
The TPS outlines the strategy and action plans at the national, provincial, city, and municipal levels to expand and diversify the productive capacities of local enterprises and empower them to produce higher value goods and services that can compete in the global market.
Following the directive, Bernos called on all stakeholders to cooperate in implementing the strategy.
“At the core of it, the TPS lays out a plan so that we can create strong fundamentals for the goods and products that we offer. If we commit towards building a sturdy foundation the possibilities for growth will be endless,” the solon said.
He added that he will engage stakeholders in his province as soon as possible regarding the strategy’s implementation.
“Makakaasa ang ating mga kailyan na pag-aaralan at pagsusumikapan natin ang agaran at epektibong implementasyon ng TPS upang patuloy na umusbong ang ating mga industriya," Bernos said.
(Our fellow citizens can be assured that we will study and strive for the prompt and effective implementation of TPS so that our industries may continue to flourish.)
