Pasig places emergency vehicles, equipment on standby for Typhoon 'Uwan'
The local government of Pasig on Friday, Nov. 7, placed its emergency vehicles and equipment on standby as part of its preparation for Typhoon Uwan.

The members of the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC), along with representatives from various barangays, also convened to conduct a pre-disaster risk assessment.
Their meeting began with a discussion of the weather outlook based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA's) 11 a.m. forecast, which indicates scattered to heavy rains.
According to the forecast, Typhoon Uwan is expected to make landfall in Aurora Province on Sunday night (Nov. 9) or Monday morning (Nov. 10).
In line with this, the local government issued reminders to offices under the Response Cluster and to barangays to make the necessary preparations for the possible effects of the typhoon on the city.
The Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) will also continue to monitor weather conditions.
If necessary, it added that it will mobilize the Incident Management Team.
The local government also encouraged the public to monitor the water levels of the Marikina River, Manggahan Floodway, and other nearby rivers.
