Mabuhay Magazine takes flight once more
Philippine Airlines' in-flight magazine makes its comeback

Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) official in-flight magazine, Mabuhay Magazine, has gone full swing for its return.
To celebrate its return, a special event was held at Blackbird Makati with PAL executives, tourism figureheads, writers, and media partners present. As the night went on, the room stood still at one point and paid full attention to the stage as raffle announcements were made. Two lucky winners were able to receive business class tickets, with the first for a flight to Seattle, US, and the second for Da Nang, Vietnam. Both destinations recently added more flights to its weekly services.
Blackbird Makati is a fitting venue, as it was once known as the Nielson Tower, a remnant from what was once Manila's first airport. PAL's first flight, from Manila to Baguio, took place at the Nielson Field on March 15, 1941.
Mabuhay Magazine first found its way on passengers’ laps in 1963. At the time, it was a short read, offering only a few pages for riders to skim through. Over the years, it found its voice as it filled its pages with stories about the many destinations offered by PAL and the sights and activities you can go through. Publication was put to a pause in 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic left much of the world's airports grounded due to quarantines and travel bans taking place.
Taking charge of the magazine's return are co-editors-in-chief Erwin Romulo and Pauline Juan. Passengers can expect its upcoming editions to contain immersive travel stories paired with visuals that stand out. Plus, it will have an added focus toward including Filipino narratives showcasing our achievements worldwide. It's certainly another thing to look forward to for future trips with PAL.
