DAVAO CITY – The provincial government of Cotabato launched on Thursday, Nov. 6, a relief drive dubbed “Bayanihan para sa Cebu” for typhoon-hit communities in the province.
In a statement, the provincial government said those who are willing to help may drop their donations at the Regional Evacuation Center inside the provincial capitol grounds in Barangay Amas in Kidapawan City.
People were asked to bring donations no later than Nov. 11 as the provincial government will send another batch of relief aid to Cebu.
The provincial government added that the consolidated relief aid will be transported to Cebu as soon as possible.
On Oct. 10, the provincial government transported relief aid for earthquake-hit areas in Cebu – 3,400 bags of rice, 1,000 jerry cans, 1,000 mosquito nets, 500 plastic mats, 100 rolls of laminated sacks, 1,000 hygiene kits, assorted medicines, and veterinary medicines and supplies.
“Sa gitna ng trahedyang dulot ng bagyong Tino, maraming pamilya sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng Cebu ang nawalan ng tirahan, kabuhayan, at higit sa lahat ng pag-asa,” said the provincial government in a statement.
