BUTUAN CITY – The government has distributed 62,911 family food packs to families affected by typhoon ‘’Tino’’ in the Caraga region.

The Office of Civil Defense-13 turned over more than 3,000 family hygiene kits to the Province of Dinagat Islands on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Each kit has a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towels, sanitary pads, disinfectants, and detergents.
These were received by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Dinagat Islands was one of the severely affected provinces in Caraga during the onslaught of Tino.
The province is now under a state of calamity, as declared by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Wednesday.
“The assistance is part of the national government’s ongoing response to families severely impacted by Typhoon Tino,” the PDRRMC said in a statement.
It noted that the family kits were carefully chosen to address the basic sanitation needs of families whose homes and belongings were damaged or destroyed.
“This highlights OCD's dedication to providing immediate food, shelter, and supporting long-term health of disaster victims,” the PDRRMC said. (with a report from PNA)
