ILOILO CITY – Western Visayas region is set to receive P200-million financial assistance from the Office of the President for typhoon “Tino” recovery efforts.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said on Thursday, Nov. 6, that the provinces of Iloilo and Capiz will get P50 million each; the provinces of Aklan and Antique, P40 million each, and the island-province of Guimaras, P20 million.
The Office of Civil Defense-6 said three people were killed and 764,007 were affected by Tino in the region.
Many areas in Western Visayas region were flooded and homes and properties sustained damage.
The Office of the President has allocated P760 million for areas devastated by Tino. The amount is on top of assistance released by various government agencies.
