ILOILO CITY – Typhoon ‘’Tino’’ displaced 764,000 people or 233,694 families in Western Visayas region, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council -6 said Thursday.
The RDRRMC-6 chaired by the Office of Civil Defense-6 said 4,619 barangays in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces and the capital city of Iloilo were affected.
Iloilo and Iloilo City have the highest number of affected people with 270,457, followed by Capiz with 201,890.
Capiz, including the capital city of Roxas, is still reeling from the massive flooding triggered by tropical cyclone “Ramil” on Oct. 18 when Tino struck.
Tino displaced 113,918 in Aklan; 111,127 in Antique, and 66,615 in Guimaras.
The RDRRMC-6 recorded three fatalities – one each in Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo.
