PAF Black Hawk chopper makes emergency landing in Southern Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – A Philippine Air Force Blackhawk helicopter made an emergency landing Wednesday in a rice field in Barangay Panian, Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte.
The Saint Bernard Municipal Police Station responded to the incident involving the helicopter with body No. 753.
According to the pilot, an engine malfunction necessitated the emergency landing.
The helicopter, originating from Tactical Operations Group-8 based in Tacloban City, was enroute to Saint Bernard to conduct an aerial assessment and visit areas affected by typhoon “Tino.”
Authorities said there were no injuries or casualties from the incident.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the malfunction.
Tino made its first landfall in Silago, Southern Leyte on Monday night.
