Mandaluyong City, NGO partner for stronger HIV response

The Mandaluyong City local government forged ties with LoveYourself Inc. last Nov. 3 to further enhance the city's capabilities in providing topnotch care and medical services for HIV patients.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos attended the signing of the partnership agreement together with LoveYourself Inc. Executive Director Ronvin Pagtakhan, LoveYourself Inc. Amb. Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Vice Mayor Anthony Suva, and City Health Department head Dr. Arnold Abalos.
According to Abalos, the agreement boosts the medical services being given by Mandaluyong City's Social Hygiene Clinic to HIV-positive individuals.
The LoveYourself clinic in Mandaluyong is considered as the foundation's largest clinic wherein 54 percent of diagnosed HIV cases in Metro Manila are being treated here.
"Kasunod ng paglagda sa kasunduan ay ang panawagan ni Mayor Abalos sa publiko na makiisa sa kampanya ng lungsod at ng foundation sa laban sa HIV at AIDS. Hinikayat din niya na agad magpunta sa Social Hygiene Clinic sa 2nd floor Old Zaniga Health Center, Barangay Old Zaniga ang sino mang nais magpakonsulta o magpa-HIV testing (Following the signing of the agreement, Mayor Abalos called on the public to join the city and the foundation's campaign against HIV and AIDS. She also encouraged anyone who wants to seek advice or HIV testing to proceed to the Social Hygiene Clinic on the 2nd floor of the Old Zaniga Health Center in Barangay Old Zaniga)," the city government said.
