Czech Republic crowned Miss Earth 2025, speaks Filipino during final Q&A

Natalie Puskinova of the Czech Republic was crowned Miss Earth 2025, as she spoke partly in Filipino during the final question-and-answer round that drew cheers from the crowd at Okada Manila on Nov. 5.
Natálie, 21, is a marketing and public relations student at Charles University in Prague and a certified scuba diver with a passion for ocean conservation.
She leads “From Plate to Planet,” an initiative that reduces food waste and its environmental impacts, and is developing the Mini Academy, a youth-led EU Solidarity Corps program offering workshops to inspire sustainable living through awareness, empathy, and action.
Natalie edged out 77 other candidates for the crown during the 25th edition of the environmentally driven beauty contest, which was broadcast live on YouTube.
Other winners were: Iceland, Miss Earth Air; Vietnam, Miss Earth Water; and Thailand, Miss Earth Fire.
Miss Philippines Joy Barcoma finished in the Top 8.
This is the second time a beauty queen from the Czech Republic has won the Miss Earth crown. The first was Teresa Fajskova in 2012.
During the final question and answer portion, Natalie was asked, "Bill Gates, who is the leading proponent for carbon emissions reduction, recently proposed that resources must be shifted away from the battle against climate change to efforts that prevent disease and hunger. Do you agree?"
Natalie initially answered in English but concluded her response in Filipino.
"I'm not here today to pick a finger and choose what is worst, whether it is environmental causes or social problems. Even though I live on the other side of the world, we are still facing the same climate change, and we are facing this issue together. I believe that if we all unite, we can prevent both hunger and environmental causes. And one message I wanna say, protektahan natin ang kalikasan. (Let's protect our environment)," she said.
Winners of special awards were Mexico, People's Choice; Colombia, Best In Swimsuit; and Cuba, Best In Evening Gown.
Other candidates who finished in the Top 25 were contestants from Brazil, Chile, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Argentina, Canada, India, Italy, Macau, Moldova, Namibia, the Netherlands, Northern Mariana Islands, Peru, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
