P30-M fire destroys poultry farm in Quezon

SAN ANTONIO, Quezon – A poultry farm was destroyed in a fire in on Tuesday night, Nov. 4, in Barangay San Jose here.
Police said the blaze that struck Gold Star 88 poultry farm started at 11 p.m.
Investigation said a farm caretaker was inspecting a building 4 when an electrical circuit breaker suddenly exploded.
Because of the automatic fan and cooling system, oxygen fed the fire rapidly. The fire quickly spread to other buildings made of light materials.
Firemen promptly contained the fire and no casualties were reported as workers and residents nearby were evacuated.
Damage to property was estimated at P30 million.
Arson investigators are conducting follow-up investigation.
