In a statement on Wednesday, Nov. 5, the city’s Public Information Office said Navotas was named PhilHealth UHC Champion in Governance, PhilHealth YAKAP Champion with the Highest Percentage of Accredited YAKAP Clinics, and PhilHealth YAKAP Highest Compliance Rate–Government Employer.
The San Roque Health Center also bagged the YAKAP Champion for Highest First Patient Encounter (FPE) award after recording 10,106 consultations as of Sept. 30.
The Schools Division Office of Navotas was recognized as Outstanding Employer–Large Account, while the Navotas City Hospital received the Outstanding Partner for the Group Enrollment Program award.
All 13 city health centers, the Navotas Medical and Wellness Center, and the Navotas City Hospital are accredited as PhilHealth YAKAP Clinics. From January to September 2025, these facilities logged a total of 79,567 First Patient Encounters.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco commended the city’s health workers and partner agencies for their continued commitment to providing quality healthcare services.
“These recognitions reflect the hard work and dedication of our health frontliners and partners in ensuring that every Navoteño has access to quality and affordable healthcare. We will continue to expand our health programs to protect more residents,” he said.
Tiangco also announced the upcoming launch of “YAKAP para sa mga Mag-aaral” on November 12 at Kapitbahayan Elementary School, which aims to enroll students in PhilHealth and promote preventive healthcare.
“YAKAP encourages early consultation and regular checkups. I urge parents to register their children so they can have proper health protection as they grow,” the mayor said.
The YAKAP program, short for Yamang Kalusugan Para sa Pamilya, aims to promote early consultation, health education, and preventive care to help Filipino families maintain their health and well-being.
