International community expresses solidarity with 'Tino' victims

Several countries have conveyed their sympathy to Filipinos devastated by Typhoon Tino.
Germany, Canada, United States, European Union, Australia, United Kingdom, and United Arab Emirates issued statements of sympathy and support to the Philippines which has taken the brunt of the typhoon that has claimed 66 lives.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of typhoon Tino and their families. Germany stands in solidarity with the people of the Philippines. Helping to build more resilient communities is one important element of Germany-Philippines cooperation," German Ambassador to the Philippines Andreas Pfaffernoschke said on Tuesday night, Nov. 4.
The Embassy of Canada in the Philippines also issued a statement, extending their condolences to families who have lost their loved ones from the typhoon.
"Canada Embassy in the Philippines conveys its solidarity with those affected by Typhoon Tino (Kaelmegi) in central Philippines," it said. "We extend our condolences to those who have lost loved ones and our thoughts to communities coping with injury, displacement, and damage to homes and livelihoods."
The Canadian embassy expressed that Canada stands ready to assist the country in its recovery efforts and providing urgent needs.
"Canada stands ready to coordinate closely with Philippine government agencies, humanitarian partners, and the international community to help address urgent needs and support recovery efforts," the embassy said.
The United States Embassy in the country also stated it stands ready to offer assistance to affected communities.
"My heart goes out to everyone affected by Typhoon #TinoPH's devastation. We extend our condolences to the friends and families of those who perished and salute the brave first responders on the scene. Working with our #FriendsPartnersAllies, the United States stands ready to assist," US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson said on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
The European Union (EU), for its part, expressed solidarity in rebuilding stronger communities, following the typhoon's impact.
"Our thoughts are with those affected by Typhoon Tino. We at the EU stand in solidarity with the Filipino people in these trying times. We are one with you in rebuilding stronger and more resilient communities," EU Ambassador Massimo Santoro said.
Australia likewise expressed intention to work with the Philippine government to assist in its recovery efforts.
"My deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished or are missing due to #TinoPH. Australia stands ready to work with the Philippine Government and our partners to assist in recovery efforts on the ground," Australian Ambassador Marc Innes-Brown said.
British Ambassador to the Philippine Sarah Hulton also extended UK's sympathies to the victims, saying "I extend my heartfelt sympathies to those affected by Typhoon Tino in Visayas and Mindanao. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all those working tirelessly in response and recovery."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the United Arab Emirates also expressed its "sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Philippines over this tragedy, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured."
