Crasto takes helm at Mastercard Philippines to advance inclusion roadmap

Mastercard Inc. has appointed Jason Crasto as its new country manager for the Philippines, placing a veteran with two decades of industry experience in charge of strategy and operations within one of Southeast Asia's fastest-digitizing economies.
Crasto will spearhead Mastercard’s initiatives to align with the Philippines’ national digital payments growth and transformation roadmap, focusing on advancing secure and inclusive payments solutions in coordination with public and private sector partners.
Since joining Mastercard in 2020, Crasto has managed key client relationships and product portfolios, focusing on innovation in commercial solutions and digital ecosystems.
Before his time at Mastercard, Castro held positions across global payment networks and loyalty platforms, bringing strong expertise in product management and portfolio strategy.
Safdar Khan, Division President for Southeast Asia at Mastercard, said that Crasto’s “leadership and industry expertise will be pivotal as Mastercard deepens its role as a trusted partner in the Philippines’ digital transformation journey.”
The appointment is announced amid sustained growth in local digital adoption. According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, over 57 percent of retail transactions were conducted digitally in 2024.
Crasto’s background in scaling digital ecosystems across South Asia is expected to be crucial in unlocking new opportunities and sustaining this positive momentum.
Crasto holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
