CAAP: Minimal damage in airports in areas battered by typhoon

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Wednesday reported minimal damage in some airports in areas struck by typhoon ‘’Tino.’’
CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario said that based on initial situation reports, several airports experienced minor structural impacts, but no major infrastructure damage or aviation-related incidents were reported.
“We have already deployed our personnel on the ground to assess any damaged facilities and ensure immediate repair actions. We are also closely coordinating with our area managers for timely updates and swift response,” Del Rosario said.
The San Vicente Airport in Palawan reported flooding in its Aircraft and Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) station while the roof of the terminal building at the Borongan Airport in Eastern Samar sustained minor damage.
The Hilongos Airport in Leyte reported a broken glass door and ceiling damage in its pre-departure area entrances while the Guiuan Airport in Eastern Samar reported minor gutter and roof damage.
None of the 10 international airports regulated by CAAP was damaged – the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Clark International Airport, Davao International Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Kalibo International Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport, Laoag International Airport, Bohol-Panglao International Airport, and the Bicol International Airport.
