BACOLOD CITY – Four persons were killed and 18 others were reported missing during the onslaught of typhoon “Tino” in La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Vice Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan said that of the four fatalities, only two have been identified. Data and information gathering are ongoing, she added.
Mangilimutan said that Barangays Sag-ang and Robles have been severely affected.
Several houses, some near rivers, were damaged and swept by floodwaters.
“Please pray for the lives of those missing that hopefully they can survive and the souls of those who died because of the typhoon,” Mangilimutan said.
Mangilimutan said the people of La Castellana are resilient and confident that they can rise again amid Tino and Kanlaon Volcano.
