Senior citizen wanted for sexual assault arrested in Taguig
Operatives from the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested a 77-year-old man tagged as a most wanted person in Taguig for qualified sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness on Nov. 3.
The suspect, identified as Reynaldo, was nabbed at his residence in Barangay Central Signal in Taguig.
The operation was conducted by a joint team led by the SPD’s District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) along with personnel from the District Special Operations Unit and the Taguig police’s Warrant and Subpoena Section.
Reynaldo was classified by the Taguig police as the No. 5 most wanted person for November.
He was apprehended based on a warrant of arrest for qualified sexual assault and four counts of qualified acts of lasciviousness issued by Presiding Judge Byron San Pedro of the Taguig Family Court Branch 15.
The court recommended bail of P200,000 for qualified sexual assault and P108,000 for each count of qualified acts of lasciviousness or a total amount of P632,000.
The suspect is under the temporary custody of the Taguig police’s custodial facility.
"This successful operation underscores the SPD's commitment to bringing those who prey on the vulnerable to justice. The arrest of Alias Reynaldo, Taguig's number five most wanted, sends a clear message: we will relentlessly pursue individuals with outstanding warrants, especially those charged with heinous crimes. I commend the professionalism and swift action of the DMFB, DSOU, and Taguig CPS personnel for their exemplary work," SPD District Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo said.
