Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) reported an eight percent dip in consolidated net income to ₱17.3 billion in the first nine months of the year, from ₱18.8 billion in the same period last year, as surge in third-quarter earnings was not enough to offset softness in the first half.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, AEV said the conglomerate recorded a consolidated net income of ₱8.9 billion in the third quarter of 2025, a 71 percent increase from the ₱5.2 billion recorded in the second quarter of 2025. This quarter-on-quarter growth was largely driven by improved performance across almost all segments.

Power accounted for 60 percent of the total net income contributions from AEV’s Strategic Business Units (SBU) for the first nine months of 2025, while Food and Beverage accounted for 25 percent. Net income contributions from Financial Services, Real Estate, and Infrastructure SBUs were at 15 percent, five percent, and negative five percent, respectively.

On a standalone basis, Aboitiz Power Corp, reported a drop in core net income to ₱23.1 billion for the first nine months compared to ₱27.2 billion in the same period last year.

Including foreign exchange and derivative gains, AboitizPower’s net income at end-September was ₱23.3 billion, bringing its contribution to AEV to ₱12.5 billion, 14 percent lower than the ₱14.5 billion a year ago.

Union Bank of the Philippines, meanwhile, reported a net income of ₱3.2 billion for the third quarter of 2025, 77 percent higher quarter-on-quarter, bringing its net income to ₱6.5 billion for the first nine months of 2025.

Aboitiz Land, Inc. reported a consolidated profit of ₱879 million in January to September, a 69 percent jump from the ₱521 million recorded in the same period in 2024. This growth was driven by the recognition of gains from asset monetization.

Net income contribution from the Food and Beverage segment, which includes Aboitiz Foods and Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines Inc. (CCEAP), was ₱5.2 billion, 25 percent higher than the ₱4.2 billion recorded in the same period in 2024.

Growth was primarily driven by full nine-month contributions from CCEAP, which financially closed only on Feb. 23, 2024, and the strong volumes and margins of AboitizFoods’ Flour, Farms, Livestock, and Trading segments.

Aboitiz InfraCapital’s income contribution to AEV amounted to ₱137 million for the first nine months of 2025, a reversal of the ₱148 million net loss it incurred in the same period in 2024.

AEV said this was primarily driven by Economic Estates’ lot sales at TARI Estates in Tarlac, passenger traffic growth and the full nine-month contribution of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), the continued expansion of Unity Digital Infrastructure’s co-location services and tower portfolio, and the commercial ramp-up of Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc.

AEV’s share in Republic Cement & Building Materials, Inc.’s loss for the first nine months of 2025 amounted to ₱1.1 billion, compared to ₱726 million in the same period in 2024. The higher net loss is mainly attributable to the continued weakness in sales volume and selling prices driven by low market demand for cement.
