The City Government of Manila, through the Department of Public Services (DPS), reminds the public that littering in any public area is strictly prohibited under City Ordinance No. 8371.
The ordinance bans the disposal of garbage on streets, sidewalks, riverbanks, and all other public places within the city.
City officials emphasized that this law is not only meant to maintain order but also serves as a reminder that every individual’s actions have a lasting impact on the community.
Proper waste disposal plays a vital role in promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents.
The Department of Public Services continues to encourage every Manileño to dispose of their waste responsibly, segregate biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials, and take part in preserving the cleanliness of their surroundings.
By practicing discipline and environmental awareness, citizens help foster a city that is clean, safe, and conducive to better living.
“This is not just a law, it is a shared responsibility,” the DPS said.
“Through simple acts of cleanliness, we can all contribute to a more livable and orderly City of Manila.”
