Man stabbed dead after discovering missing e-wallet balance during online gambling in Rizal
A man was stabbed to death by a companion he had been playing online gambling with, after discovering that the funds in his electronic wallet (e-wallet) were missing.
According to the Binangonan Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 2, at around 2:30 a.m. along Macaria Street in Barangay Mambog, Binangonan, Rizal.
Based on their investigation, the victim, identified as “Herminigildo,” and the suspect, identified as “Jay,” were playing scatter in front of the latter's house.
The victim then opened his GCash account to load but noticed that his e-wallet no longer had any funds. He immediately confronted the suspect, suspecting him of having something to do with the missing balance, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a fistfight.
However, during the fistfight, the suspect allegedly drew a knife from his waist and stabbed the victim multiple times in different parts of his body before fleeing the scene.
A witness immediately reported the incident and sought assistance to bring the victim to Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities are now hunting down the suspect.
