- For Judy Ann Santos, cooking is a survival skill that everyone should learn.
A woman of many hats—wife, mother, actress, content producer, and chef—Judy Ann Santos always puts her best foot forward in everything she does. And if there’s one more passion she hopes to pursue, it’s teaching.
Despite being in the culinary scene for a long time, Judy Ann shared that she still has a lot to learn as a chef.
"I am still learning, and I am being very honest when I say na, I have a long way to go. I still have a long way to go. I am just really grateful that people are actually trusting me with their brands and their products, and that alone I am grateful already," Judy Ann said during her launch as brand ambassador of Kyowa.
When asked about her dream beyond being a celebrity chef, Judy Ann shared that she hopes to open her own culinary school to help new moms, students, and even those who dislike cooking, to discover the joys of being in the kitchen.
"Hindi naman masamang mangarap. I really want to put up my own little school. Someday, probably."
Judy Ann further explained that she wants to build a community where she can teach people that cooking is a survival thing.
"In my mind, why not create a community where I could actually teach people not to be scared of taking a risk inside the kitchen and actually learn a skill? Because cooking is a survival skill. It is something that you have to learn, whether you are a single mom or a single person. Maaaring dalaga, binata ka, but cooking for yourself is very important," she explained.
To make the event more memorable, the guests were given a sweet treat: Black sesame polvoron halo-halo, the same dessert that Judy Ann prepared for award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay when he visited the Philippines.
