The late National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor's star continues to shine, as her son, Ian de León, confirmed that they have started curating her personal memorabilia for a planned museum that will celebrate Nora's life and legacy as an artist.

Ian shared that the family has officially begun the careful process of sorting through the late National Artist's possessions: from the iconic gowns she wore in her "Superstar" show, to paintings, awards, scripts, publications, and other historic memorabilia.
Ian admitted that the work is not easy. "Actually it would take time. If not months, maybe years," he said when interviewed at the Libingan ng mga Bayani last All Soul's Day when he and his family came to visit their mother's grave.
"Patience lang talaga," he noted. " And syempre, yung mga legal, yung coordination with LGUs.’ (We just need patience. And of course, legal matters and coordination with local governments.)
The plan is to build one museum in Nora’s hometown of Iriga City, and another in Manila.
"Meron isa sa Iriga and we’re planning to put one here. But it’s still underway.’ (There will be one in Iriga, and we’re planning to put one here. But it’s still in progress.)
"Of course gusto natin ipagpatuloy ang legacy ni mommy, gusto natin ipagpatuloy yung inspirasyon niya, coming from nagbebenta ng tubig sa train sa PNR sa Iriga to becoming a superstar National Artist. That's unheard of in Philippine history. Siya lang ang nakagawa nyan. (We want to continue mom’s legacy and her inspiration, coming from somebody who was selling water at the PNR train station in Iriga to becoming a Superstar and National Artist. That’s unheard of in our history. She's the only one who's done that)," he stated.
Despite the collection of precious memorabilia amassed through Ate Guy's long career in showbiz, Ian stressed that material wealth was never his mother’s priority.
"Hindi siya materialistic. Yung prized possession niya is yung totoong mga nagmamahal sa kanya. At saka yung pananampalataya niya." (She wasn't materialistic. Her prized possession was the people who truly loved her, and her faith.)

Ian recalled the conversations he had with his mother during her final years. He said these were the pieces of advice he treasured the most from her.
"Kapag nagkukuwentuhan kami, sinasabi nya, 'anak, kahit anong marating mo sa buhay, kahit anong ibiyaya sa iyo ng Diyos, hindi natin yan madadala sa itaas. Isi-share natin yan. (Whenever we talk, she always reminded me that no matter what you achieve in life, no matter what blessing you receive, you can't take it with you when you go to heaven. We need to share that)"
He observed that success was something the late National Artist considered as a feat she did not own. "Ayaw nyang tawagin siyang superstar, hindi ganon ang tingin nya sa sarili nya (she didn't want to be called superstar, that's not how she saw herself)."
For Ian, the values Nora lived by are the real inheritance she left behind.
"Ang sabi niya, anak, ang blessing ang nag-aantay sa atin. Hinihintay tayo para maging deserving, para makuha ang blessing na yun. Kung hindi ka deserving, maghihintay pa rin yan sa'yo. Ang tanong, ikaw, ready mo bang i-commit yung blessing na ibibigay sa'yo? (She said, my child, blessings wait for us. They wait until we become deserving enough to receive them. And if you are not deserving yet, the blessing will still wait for you. The question is, are you ready to commit to the blessing that will be given to you?’)"
He also remembers her as telling him: "Ang ego, ang pride ang makakasira sa 'yo. Ang pagmamahal ang napaka-importante. Ang respeto napaka-importante, yan ang pinakamahalagang naiwan sa akin ng mommy ko. (Ego and pride will destroy you. Love and respect are the most important things. This is the most important lesson she left me.)"
Ian, whose 10-year-old son, Jaden, has expressed interest in joining the show business someday, said he feels responsible for continuing his mother's dreams.
"Bilang anak, ipagpapatuloy ko ang mga plano niya, yung mga hindi niya natupad (As her son, I will continue her plans, the ones she didn't get to fulfill.)"
At the same time, Ian expressed hopes that the future museum will inspire countless Filipinos, just as Nora inspired generations with her acting, singing, and charity work.
