Mayor Greg Gasataya shared on social media that most of these incidents involved trees and electrical posts toppled by strong winds that have damaged roofs of houses and vehicles.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) have started clearing operations on major roads.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod helped clear Lopez Jaena St. of uprooted trees that hit a portion of a perimeter wall of a public cemetery. Six graves were damaged.
Gasataya assured residents that the city government is actively responding to the situation.

Charging stations have been set up in barangays as the city government await full power restoration. The city government has deployed additional generator sets to evacuation centers that urgently need power.
“We know the days ahead will still be challenging, but we will overcome this stronger together,” Gasataya said.
