16 out of 38 barangays in Taguig situated along fault lines - Mayor Lani

Mayor Lani Cayetano said 16 out of 38 barangays in Taguig are situated along fault lines. 

“Pinababatid sa lahat ang walang patid na pakikipag-ugnayan ng Lungsod Taguig sa ating mga barangay officials upang maging #laginghanda ang bawat komunidad sa anumang kalamidad (We would like to inform everyone of the continuous coordination of Taguig City with our barangay officials so that each community can be #alwaysprepared for any calamity),” she wrote on Facebook. 

She added, “Batay sa pag-aaral, 16 sa 38 barangay ng Taguig ang nasa kahabaan ng fault line (Based on the study, 16 of the 38 barangays of Taguig are located along the fault line).” 

The mayor added, “Naniniwala tayo na hindi kailangang matakot kung sapat ang ginagawa nating paghahanda. Kaya patuloy ang malalim nating koordinasyon at pagpapalakas ng mga programa sa disaster preparedness sa pamumuno ng City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), katuwang ang mga barangay at iba’t ibang sektor (We believe that there is no need to fear if we are adequately prepared. That is why we continue to deeply coordinate and strengthen disaster preparedness programs under the leadership of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), in partnership with the barangays and various sectors).” 

She thanked barangay and stakeholders for their active participation towards the safety of communities.
