ILOILO CITY – All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days were generally peaceful in Western Visayas region as the Police Regional Office-6 did not record major criminal incidents.
The PRO-6 attributed this to the 4,280 police officers deployed in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the capital city of Iloilo from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
Police Major Laily Sencil, PRO-6 information officer, said this achievement was also attributed to the force multipliers – government agencies, local government units (LGUs), barangay officials, barangay tanods, and other volunteer groups – that worked with the police.
“I commend our police personnel for their unwavering commitment and the public for their cooperation and discipline,” said PRO-6 director Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan.
“We also thank our partners in the LGUs, other government agencies, and volunteers for their active support and coordination,” added Ligan.
Ligan visited cemeteries and transportation terminals last Friday to inspect police presence.
