BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-10 (Northern Mindanao) and PRO-13 (Caraga) said on Monday, Nov. 3, that All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days or “Undas” in the two regions were generally peaceful.
“Thank God for a zero and no untoward incident during our recent observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day,” PRO-13 chief information officer Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV thanked government agencies, law enforcement agencies, local government units, and the people for maintaining peace and order during Undas.
More than 2,000 police personnel were mobilized for Undas in the Caraga region.
PRO-10 also recorded no Undas-related incidents from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.
“Despite the influx of an estimated 456,005 cemetery goers in various cemeteries across the region, peace and order were effectively maintained,” PRO-10 chief public information officer Police Major Joann G. Navarro said.
Around 1,600 police personnel were deployed in Northern Mindanao and were augmented by 742 personnel from other government agencies and 1,696 force multipliers.
They were deployed in key areas such as cemeteries, transportation hubs, and motorists’ assistance centers.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano commended them for their achievement.
