ZAMBOANGA CITY – All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days here were generally peaceful, police declared.
The Zamboanga City Police Office said all cemeteries, transport terminals, and major thoroughfares were orderly throughout the observance period and no untoward incident was reported.
Zamboanga City police deputy for operations Police Lt. Col. Paul Andrew Cortez thanked Mayor Khymer Olaso for issuing two executive orders – rerouting traffic rerouting within the vicinity of cemeteries and prohibitions for visitors inside them.
Cortez commended and thanked Task Force Zamboanga, Bureau of Fire Protection, Zamboanga City Mobile Force Battalion, barangay tanods, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, traffic enforcers, radio groups, and the force multipliers for assisting the police during the occasion.
There are 44 cemeteries in Zamboanga City visited by the Catholic faithful over the weekend.
