THE DSWD-8 is ready for typhoon 'Tino.'
TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Eastern Visayas has activated a Quick Response Team (QRT) for typhoon “Tino.”
They are now rendering 24/7 duty to ensure that they will be able to respond to affected local government units.
The DSWD-8 has prepositioned 134,531 family food packs, 20,664 non-food items, 18,473 ready-to-eat food, and 4,950 water bottles.
With the help of the Philippine Army, the Philippine Air Force, and the Philippine Coast Guard, these will be sent to strategic locations across the region for easier and faster distribution when the need arises.
The agency has relief items worth P132.8 million readily available for augmentation to requesting LGUs.
The DSWD-8 said it continues to monitor the forecast track of the storm and encouraged people to take safety precautions.
