Corrections officer nabbed with P132,000 shabu in Muntinlupa
Police arrested a corrections officer assigned at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa in a shabu buy-bust operation on Nov. 2.
The suspect was identified by the Muntinlupa police as alias Paulo, 27, a resident of Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
He was nabbed during a police operation in the NBP Reservation in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa.
The Muntinlupa police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Inter-Agency Collaborative Group (IACG) and the Directorate for Intelligence and Investigation of the Bureau of Corrections, launched the operation that resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
Seized from the suspect were 19.4 grams of shabu valued at P131,920, a motorcycle, and a Glock 17 9mm pistol with live ammunition.
The police said the suspect allegedly refused the search of his motorcycle.
The suspect is under police custody and will be facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“This operation exposes that no one is above the law. We will not tolerate any individual, regardless of rank or position, who chooses to betray public trust by engaging in the illegal drug trade,” said Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, district director of the Southern Police District.
