CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Calabarzon Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is on blue alert status for the possible impact of typhoon ‘’Tino’’ in the region.
The Office of Civil Defense-Calabarzon said government agencies and local governments are on standby for prompt response and coordination.
Tino will not directly hit Calabarzon but the region is expected to experience strong winds and rains caused by amihan and the shear line.
RDRRMC Chairman Carlos Eduardo E. Alvarez III has instructed local government units to implement pre-emptive evacuation, no sail policy, and issuance of advisories to ensure public safety.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Northern Quezon, through the Deployable Response Group (DRG), is also on standby and ready to respond for Tino.
It strongly advised people to follow the instructions of local authorities and be vigilant of possible hazards caused by severe weather.
