Shortly after arriving from South Korea, President Marcos visited the tomb of his father at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on All Souls' Day.
Marcos, together with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos proceeded to the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City to pay respects to the late former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. on Sunday afternoon, Malacañang said.
The Palace released a series of photos of the President and the First Lady during their visit at the late dictator's tomb.
"On this All Souls’ Day, I offer prayers and remembrance at my father’s resting place. His life, service, and dreams for our nation continue to guide me," Marcos said in a Facebook post.
"May we all take this day to honor the memory of those we’ve loved and lost," he added.
The First Couple's visit came after they arrived in Manila from the President's participation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Leaders (APEC) Summit held in Busan, South Korea.
The late strongman was buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in 2016 after the Supreme Court allowed the burial by voting 9-5 to dismiss the petitions to block the order of then president Rodrigo Duterte to allow the burial of Marcos at the Heroes' Cemetery.
