An ash emission transpired at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to Phivolcs, the ash emission began at 1:48 p.m. and ended at 2:25 p.m.
It generated grayish plumes that rose approximately 400 meters above the crater before drifting southwest, it added.
The agency said the activity was recorded by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory-Canlaon City (KVO-CC) IP camera.
Phivolcs said Alert Level 2 prevails over Kanlaon Volcano.
It means that there is still moderate unrest caused by shallow magmatic activity.
The agency reminded the public to avoid the four-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone due to the risk of sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions.
