ILOILO CITY – Classes in the Western Visayas region were cancelled on Monday as tropical cyclone “Tino” threatened the Visayas region.
No classes were declared in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the city of Iloilo, the regional capital of Western Visayas.
The agency warned of possible storm surge in eastern Panay and Guimaras Islands.
The Office of Civil Defense-6, chairman of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC), convened an online pre-disaster risk assessment (PDRA) on Sunday afternoon.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development-6 prepositioned food supplies in key areas of Western Visayas.
