House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III reflected on the significance of the "Undas" holidays in his message to Filipinos on Saturday, Nov. 1.
(Undas is a time of remembrance, prayer, and gratitude. Every November 1, we celebrate All Saints’ Day in recognition of the saints and holy people who showed faithful devotion and goodness.)
"Sa Nobyembre 2, ginugunita natin ang All Souls’ Day upang ipagdasal at alalahanin ang ating mga mahal sa buhay na pumanaw (On November 2, we commemorate All Souls’ Day to pray for and remember our departed loved ones)," he noted.
On these days, families come together to visit cemeteries to clean, offer flowers and candles, and pray for the dead)," the Isabela 6th district congressman and fourth highest official in government said.
Dy said these aren't just acts rotted in tradition but expressions of love, respect, and gratitude to those who came before us.
"Sa bawat dasal at kandilang sinisindihan, muling nabubuhay sa ating puso ang kanilang alaala at kabutihan (With every prayer and candle lit, their memory and goodness come alive again in our hearts)."
The Speaker said Undas ia also an opportunity to strengthen our faith and hope.
(As we remember the saints and the departed, it is good to reflect on how we can live with holiness, humility, and compassion for others, for this is where the true essence of our humanity is measured.)
(May every Filipino’s observance of Undas be safe and orderly. In our travels, let us be careful; in our prayers, let us be sincere; and in our hearts, let us keep the spirit of love and unity that is the true hallmark of our Filipino identity.)
