Bacolod solon cites Aida's Chicken for Michelin distinction
BENITEZ
Bacolod City Rep. Albee Benitez expressed pride and delight over the recent recognition of Aida’s Chicken as a Michelin Selected restaurant by the prestigious Michelin Guide.
“This honor celebrates not only the superbly smoky Bacolod-style chicken inasal, but also their dedication to showcasing authentic Filipino flavors with quality, consistency, and heart,” Benitez said in a statement.
He added that Aida’s inclusion in the Michelin Guide places it among an impressive roster of world-class dining establishments while shining a spotlight on this highly-urbanized city’s rich culinary heritage.
“Their achievement is a proud moment for our local food culture, proving once again that Filipino cuisine can stand out on the global stage. Keep going, and thank you for bringing the taste of home to new heights,” the lawmaker said.
Michelin inspectors reviewed Aida’s Chicken’s Makati City branch, commending its signature Bacolod-style chicken inasal.
The restaurant was among 74 establishments in Manila and Cebu that earned distinctions during the inaugural 2026 Michelin Guide Ceremony held on Oct. 30 at the Marriott Manila Hotel.
According to the Michelin Guide, restaurants under the “Selected” category — even without a star or Bib Gourmand — are recognized for their quality ingredients and noteworthy dining experience.
Tracing its roots, Bacolod is known for chicken inasal, and Aida’s Chicken was previously one of the tenants at the original Manokan Country in Barangay 12 here currently under renovation.
