Want to own the infamous Discaya umbrella? Then join auction for seized Rolls-Royce, says BOC

Bidders will soon get the chance to own the infamous, exclusive umbrella that came with the Rolls-Royce luxury car that controversial contractor Sarah Discaya allegedly bought on a whim.
This was confirmed in a press conference Thursday, Oct. 30 by Bureau of Customs (BOC) Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Noel Bendijo at the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) headquarters at Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.
All in all, Bendijo says there are 13 seized vehicles that could be put up for auction this coming Nov. 15 in the name of restitution in the flood control projects corruption scandal, which the ICI has been investigating for two months now.
"For the 13 [vehicles], we have the P200 million value. Hindi ko lang ma-segregate yung seven, which is medyo sure na (I can't segregate the value of seven of the vehicles, which are somewhat sure for the auction). But for the 13, the total figure is conservatively, P200 million," Bendijo said.
The seven that the BOC official was referring to were the ones that have no records of import entry or certificates of payment. These seized vehicles are the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes-Benz G63 and G500, Lincoln Navigator L, and Toyota Tundra and Sequoia.
Bendijo said the particular Rolls-Royce still had the umbrella accessory that Sarah sought and purchased with the car in the ultimate flex of opulence.
Yes, 'yun yung may payong. Yes, andoon pa 'yung payong (Yes, that is the one with the umbrella. Yes, the umbrella is still there)," he told reporters.
It was learned in a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing attended by Sarah and his husband Curlee that the Rolls-Royce cost P42 million. However, it remains to be seen how much the winning bid would be once the auction is held.
Bendijo assured prospective bidders that the umbrella would be packaged with the Rolls-Royce, as intended.

He noted that many individuals have expressed their desire to join the auction for the "ill-gotten' luxury vehicles.
Bendijo said ICI chairman, former Supreme Court (SC) associate justice Andres Reyes Jr. ordered the auction to be livestreamed.
