CEBU CITY – The Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) of Danao City in northern Cebu province was awarded with a prestigious accolade in the recent Philippine Sangguniang Kabataan Awards (PSKA) 2025.
The PPSK Danao was named as one of the Most Outstanding SK Federations in the Philippines. Danao was the lone national finalist in the Pederasyon category representing Cebu.
Mhel Stephen Batucan, Danao SK Federation president, received the award.
PSKA emphasized that the recognition highlights the dedication, innovation, and genuine public service of Danao’s SK leaders, representing the city’s commitment to empowering its youth as agents of change.
The PSKA is the pioneering and premier national recognition program celebrating excellence in youth governance.
Since its inception in 2019, PSKA has honored youth-led and youth-owned initiatives that create tangible local impact and embody the ideals of leadership, participation, and integrity in public service.
In collaboration with the National Youth Commission and Philippine Youth Development Network, PSKA recognizes SK Councils and Local Youth Development Offices (LYDOs) that exemplify innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Winners went through a rigid selection process. Each finalist underwent a two-part national screening process that included documentation phase; leadership and integrity; collaboration and empowerment of SKs at the barangay level; youth participation and inclusivity; governance and ginancial management; and panel interview phase.
