Guidelines for an orderly and peaceful conduct of Undas or the observance of the day of remembering the departed ones, have been set by Antipolo City government.
The Antipolo City government said the public should be aware of the date and time of doing some clean-up, the visit, and health practices and other prohibition in the observance of All Saints and All Soul’s Day respectively, the old Filipino tradition of visiting the dead.
The city government is giving the public until Oct. 30, Thursday to do the cleaning of the tomb in all public cemeteries in the city.
From Oct. 31 until Nov. 1, All Saints Day, all public cemeteries will be open to the public from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. while on Nov. 2, All Souls’ Day, it will be from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. only.
On Nov. 3, regular visiting hours in public cemeteries will be observed, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Management of private cemeteries may following its own schedule but are encouraged to follow the health and safety measures being imposed by the city government.
The office of City Mayor Jun Ynares, III also reminded the public that there will be no cremation and burial until November 2 in all public cemeteries in the city.
As always, the city government is reminding the public on the ban on bladed and deadly weapons, alcoholic beverages, gambling, smoking including use of vape; bringing of musical instruments including guitar and the use of speakers and sound systems; and entry of vehicles in non designated parking areas in and outside the cemeteries.
The city government is also reminding the public on the prohibition on bringing Styrofoam materials and use of plastic bags as it encourages the use of eco-friendly packaging inside the cemeteries.
Public Assistance Centers have been set up by the city government and Police Assistance Desk manned by uniformed policemen have been put up at the entrance gates leading to the cemeteries.
Pet owners who will be bringing their fur babies are required to have their pets on leash and on diaper.
Curfew hours for minors, 17 and below, are from 10 p.m. up to 4 a.m. will still be strictly observed provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Hotline numbers for emergency including those seeking emergency, police and medical assistance have been posted by the city government in its social media pages.
