In a world still finding its rhythm after years of uncertainty, Galerie Y proudly opens its doors to Grupo Dibujo, a collective of artists bound by their shared devotion to drawing, expression, and collaboration. This exhibition, The Unbroken Line, stands as a testament to resilience, creativity, and the enduring power of community in art.
The Faces Behind “The Unbroken Line”
A gathering of passion, purpose, and creativity — the artists of Grupo Dibujo and Galerie Y come together for a new era of collaboration and connection. Each work, much like each artist, is a piece of the collective spirit that keeps Philippine artistry thriving.
Grupo Dibujo was born from a simple but profound vision in 2023—when visual artist Lito Milan reached out to fellow creator and art organizer Roy Espinosa. What began as a quiet conversation between two artists grew into a movement uniting diverse talents, each bringing their own style and story, yet sharing one unbroken thread: the pursuit of truth through art.
Lito Milan captures the heart of Filipino resilience and innocence in 'Children of Industry' — a tender portrayal of childhood shaped by perseverance and creativity. Through textured strokes and golden tones, Milan reflects on how the simplest moments can hold the deepest strength.
Under Roy’s guidance and Lito’s passion, the group flourished—mounting exhibitions both locally and abroad, and creating a space where artists could not only display their works but find connection, mentorship, and renewed purpose. Grupo Dibujo became a sanctuary for experimentation, where raw lines met polished forms and each stroke told a story of struggle, discovery, and hope.
In 'Branches of Embrace,' Roy Espinosa paints a vision of strength and connection — two entwined trunks standing as one, rooted deeply in the earth and reaching toward the sky. Through his masterful use of watercolor, Espinosa captures nature’s quiet poetry and the timeless beauty of unity.
Now, as Galerie Y hosts this exhibition, the gallery continues its longstanding mission to nurture Filipino artistry that is heartfelt, honest, and transformative. For over three decades, Galerie Y has supported both emerging and established artists, and the arrival of Grupo Dibujo marks another chapter in that ongoing dialogue—one that celebrates collaboration and unity in the evolving landscape of Philippine art.
A delicate dreamscape of nature’s quiet poetry — 'Botanical Reverie' captures the serene balance between structure and softness. Through fine lines and gentle washes of color, Irma Espinosa celebrates the beauty of growth, fragility, and renewal.
The Unbroken Line invites viewers to witness not just artworks, but a living narrative of continuity and connection—a reminder that creativity, when shared, becomes unbreakable.
In 'Borrowed Time,' John Mark Cunanan explores the fleeting nature of innocence and memory. Surrounded by childhood keepsakes, a figure blindfolds herself—caught between nostalgia and surrender, as symbols of freedom drift above her. The work invites reflection on how time both shelters and slips away, leaving us holding fragments of what once was.
