Boy dies after being hit by pickup truck in Manila

A four-year-old boy reportedly died after being hit by a pickup truck while he was playing with his playmates along Antipolo Street in Barangay 473, España, Manila, on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage near the incident area showed the white pickup truck at a stop near a traffic light when the boy suddenly crossed the road and was subsequently crushed by the vehicle as the driver accelerated when the light turned green.

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) said the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the pickup driver was placed under police custody while the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
