CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera will deploy 1,371 police officers to secure All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in the region.
Police Brig. Gen. Ericson Dilag, PRO-Cordillera chief, said they will be deployed to cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, and churches.
Almost 200 Police Assistance Desks will be established in cemeteries, bus terminals, malls, and recreational areas to serve as help and information centers for people.
Lawmen will also be assigned on major roads and highways to assist in traffic management and conduct checkpoint.
Quick Response Teams and Reactionary Standby Support Forces are on standby for immediate deployment for emergencies.
Police are supported by 693 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Bureau of Fire Protection and 800 volunteers.
Dilag urged people to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities.
"Undas is a time for reflection and remembrance. Let us do our part in keeping this observance safe and peaceful by following safety reminders, securing our homes before traveling, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station," he said.
