Undas 2025: Philippine Red Cross deploys 2,200 first aiders nationwide

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Tuesday, October 28, announced that it is fully prepared for the annual Undas observance, mobilizing over 2,200 first aiders and 92 chapters across the country to ensure public safety during the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day holidays on November 1 and 2.
Under its Undas 2025 Operations, the PRC said it will establish 284 First Aid Stations and 141 Welfare Desks in 314 areas nationwide, including cemeteries, transport terminals, and major highways, to assist millions of Filipinos traveling to remember their departed loved ones.
The PRC said the coverage areas include 246 cemeteries, 23 chapter vicinities, 14 bus terminals, 11 seaports, eight highways, four command posts, three gas stations, two airports, two barangay halls, one church, and one train station.
To enhance emergency response, the organization will activate all 180 ambulance units, with 63 ambulances deployed on the ground and the rest on standby for dispatch.

The PRC will also mobilize 58 service vehicles, 100 on-foot patrol units, and thousands of trained volunteers ready to provide immediate first aid, medical attention, and welfare support.
The PRC’s Undas Operations will begin on October 30, with some stations opening earlier to accommodate early cemetery visitors. Operations are expected to continue until Sunday, November 2.
“As families come together to remember their loved ones this Undas, the Philippine Red Cross stands ready to serve,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon.
“Our volunteers, staff, and assets are strategically placed and will be on high alert to ensure that every Filipino can commemorate safely and with peace of mind,” he added.
Meanwhile, PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang reminded the public to remain cautious and prepared.
“On behalf of the PRC, we remind everyone leaving their homes to unplug electrical appliances, lock doors, and never leave lit candles unattended,” Pang said.
“As congestion between stations, roads, and cemeteries is projected to worsen, we encourage everyone to bring their own first aid kits and essentials in case of emergencies,” she added.
As millions of Filipinos head to their hometowns, the PRC also shared safety reminders: plan travel routes in advance, stay alert on the road, secure your home before leaving, avoid sharing travel plans online, and keep emergency contacts handy.
