The Southern Police District (SPD) announced it will deploy 968 police officers to strategic areas for the observance of Undas 2025 on Nov. 1 and 2.
The SPD, headed by Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting district director, said the “Ligtas Undas 2025” is a comprehensive security and public safety plan to ensure the peaceful, orderly, and safe observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.
The 968 police officers will come from seven police stations under SPD’s jurisdiction. They will be deployed to cemeteries, columbaria, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and other places of convergence within the cities of Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, and Las Piñas, and the municipality of Pateros.
Of the total, 691 police personnel will be assigned to cemeteries and columbaria, 162 at places of convergence such as malls, churches, and parks, while 115 will be stationed at transport terminals including bus stations, MRT/LRT platforms, and airport terminals.
For the deployment in places of convergence, SPD identified key areas, including places of worship, malls, markets, parks, community centers, commercial establishments, tourist destinations, and major transport terminals where large crowds are expected to gather.
In support of SPD’s operations, 449 personnel from other government agencies such as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), local government units and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), together with 3,474 force multipliers, have been mobilized to assist in traffic management, crowd control, and emergency response.
Arceo said, “Our goal is to ensure that everyone can honor their departed loved ones peacefully and safely. The success of Ligtas Undas 2025 relies not only on our security preparations but also on the cooperation of the public.”
