Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano issued an order on October 27 to remove illegal structures, collect all garbage, and remove overgrown grass inside the cemetery.
Rubiano said the team from Barangay Road Clearing Operations (BaRCO) led the operation, assisted by local police and City Hall employees.
She said the operation was conducted to ensure the cemetery is clean, orderly, and safe for visitors who will pay respects to their departed loved ones on Nov. 1 and 2.
The mayor also urged the visitors to follow the guidelines issued by the city government on the cemetery’s time of visit - morning for District I residents and afternoon for District II residents - to ensure smooth crowd management.
Rubiano also told cemetery visitors to observe proper waste disposal.
She also said the city government continues to coordinate with the Pasay City Police and the City Health Office to maintain peace, order, and sanitation throughout the observance of Undas.
