Widower, son shot dead by security guard

PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte – A widower and her son were gunned down by a security guard in Sitio Nagbukel, Barangay San Antonio, this town, on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Police identified the victims as Maria Theresa Dansalan and her son, Jasper, a pharmacist, residents of Solsona, Ilocos Norte.
Investigation disclosed that the victims were onboard a motorcycle with sidecar when the suspect, Rodel Donato, 37, of La Paz, Abra, stopped them.
Donato drew a gun – a caliber .45 pistol – and shot the victims.
He fled on a motorcycle but was arrested by patrolling police officers in Barangay San Antonio, Piddig, who saw him holding a gun and informed of the shooting incident.
The victims were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
Police said motive of the incident is personal grudge.
The suspect is under police custody and faces murder charges.
