The backup point guard scored five of the Beermen’s last eight points – none bigger than the booming triple that helped SMB quell the patented Kings comeback in the contest.
June Mar Fajardo threw his weight around and notched a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds laced with four blocks for SMB which took control for the most part of the contest.
That, however, did not come without a scare as the Kings remained within shouting distance with a triple from Scottie Thompson and a dunk from Japeth Aguilar even making it just a two-point deficit, 83-81, in the last 10 seconds.
Ginebra actually had the last say in the ball game after Troy Rosario stole the ball from SMB but Thompson missed on the potential game-winning trey at the buzzer.
With the win, SMB improved to a 2-2 record while handing Ginebra its third loss in four games.
CJ Perez, Juami Tiongson and JM Calma all provided support with 10 each.
Aguilar, meanwhile, paced the Kings with 20 points and 12 rebounds while RJ Abarrientos ended up with 17 in a losing effort
