Foreign national nabbed for illegal guns

A CACHE of guns and ammunition were found at the residence of a Chinese national in Zamboanga City.

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities arrested a Chinese national for illegal possession of firearms at his residence here on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Wang Xidong, a resident of Pasay City and Talon-Talon here.

Wang was apprehended through intensive surveillance and monitoring under “Oplan: Paglalansag Omega.”

Seized from him was a cache of firearms and ammunition.

Police Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, Police Regional Office-9 director, commended police and military personnel for their achievement.

Further investigation is being conducted to determine the source of the firearms and possible connection of the suspect to any criminal syndicate.
